DBYN unlocks its potential

Unlocking the Potential - Munich October 2010
What has Don Bosco Youth-Net been doing the last 3 years, and what has the future in store for us?  These were the 2 main questions on the evaluation meeting “Unlocking the Potential”.  The meeting brought together 25 people from 12 of our member organisations.  The meeting took place at the Salesianum in Munich, from the 13th to the 17th of October.

Starting on Thursday evening from an overview of the development of the network since its foundation, the participants could exchange their memories of the network.

The Friday was reserved for an extensive evaluation, which took into account the activities we organized the last 3 years, the themes we are focusing on in our work, the strategic issues we are currently confronted with and some actions to come towards these issues.  The outcomes of this will be used to develop DBYN’s next master plan 2011 – 2013.

On Saturday we looked forward.  In the morning there was the opportunity to work on some current challenges.  Next to that the participants were introduced to the EU LifeLong Learing Programme, and the Europe for Citizens programme.  In the afternoon we organized an exchange market on which the member organisations could develop and brainstorm on new projects.  During the whole day the member organisations could present resources from their organisation which could be of interest for the others.

Sunday was reserved for an evaluation of the meeting, and the development of a personal action plan.  Looking back the weekend was the right step to take for the network.  Throughout the programme it became that there is still so much potential which is waiting to be unlocked.  We took the first steps to do so.
