Training of DBYN Trainers

Training of DBYN trainers - April 2007_1
From the 8th till the 15th of April 2007 the Salesian Youth Ministry Office of the United Kingdom hosted the Don Bosco Youth-Net training course: Training for DBYN trainers. The training course aimed at training youth workers and youth leaders from DBYN’s partner organisations to become international trainers. For this we assembled an international team of experienced trainers coming from our partner organisation: Lieve Van Aerschot (Jeugddienst Don Bosco vzw, Belgium), Geli Muehlbauer (Aktionszentrum Benediktbeuern, Germany), Louis Debono (SPYS, Malta) and Bob Gardner (Salesian Youth Ministry Office, UK).

The first two days of the training course were focussed on general training skills … basic competences which all trainers should master. On the third day the participants could choose from 2 specialised workshops: Child & staff protection or Conflict management. The last working days focussed on training in the style of Don Bosco. After the training course the participants will be asked to become member of Don Bosco Youth-Net’s pool of trainers. These trainers will lead future international activities within our network.

The training course is supported by the YOUTH programme of the European Union.
