The Salesian Pastoral Youth Service (SPYS) in collaboration with the Don Bosco Youth-Net (DBYN) is currently hosting 37 young people from ten different countries for a training course entitled “Empowering Young People – a training course on how to manage Youth in Action projects from inception to post-evaluation” at Savio College in Dingli.

Supported by the ‘Youth in Action’ Programme of the European Union, this training course focuses on training and empowering participants to work together in an international team to organise, lead, and evaluate international youth activities through the said ‘Youth in Action’ Programme.

The participants, coming from Malta, the UK, Germany, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, the Netherlands, Belgium, Slovenia and Austria are mostly experienced volunteer youth leaders who are motivated to take responsibility in youth organisations or the organising of international youth initiatives. The participants are also being trained in the inclusion of disadvantaged youth in their projects. By the end of the training course, this coming Saturday, participants will plan activities which they will implement both locally and on a European level, either within the DBYN itself or elsewhere.
