On Sunday the 18th of July I said my goodbyes to my family and friends to leave on a journey to Holland. It was the first time that I was travelling alone and for such a stretch of time. Upon departure I only knew that I had to land in Schipol Airport and take a train to De Haag Station. I did not know who was going to pick me up or who what was going to happen from then on. I got to the station as scheduled and found one of my friends-to-be waiting to take me to my new home. There I met all the European volunteers and we gave a start to Vakantiebos 2010!

An experience that I will surely never ever forget in my life. When we arrived in Belgium we were immediately welcomed to the international group. During the first weekend we shared experiences and got to know different ideas and cultures, especially about the Belgian culture. We were given training in order to help us for see what we will encounter in the playground. The international volunteers where divided into five Belgian playgrounds.
